Ascend Psychological Services provides psychoeducational evaluations of school-age children experiencing academic and behavioral difficulties. Our team specializes in the assessment of autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), and emotional problems that impact learning. In addition, we provide assessments for adolescents seeking college and/or SAT/ACT accommodations as well as testing for acceptance into mentally gifted programs for school-age children. Dr. Gretchen Britton
Gretchen Britton, Ph.D. is a PA Licensed Psychologist, Certified School Psychologist, and board certified school neuropsychologist. Dr. Britton received her doctoral degree from Temple University and has over 14 years’ experience in the assessment of children and young adults, from age three to 21, in a variety of settings. She specializes in school neuropsychological evaluations using a range of instruments and techniques designed to obtain an in-depth understanding of the child's learning profile, including any neurocognitive deficits he or she may have. This understanding yields more refined and ultimately more successful interventions designed to build on the child's strengths while addressing the child's needs. Dr. Britton also specializes in cross-battery assessment and is certified to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
Dr. Todd Mendelsohn
Todd Mendelsohn is a nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP). He has extensive experience with the behavioral management and diagnosis of school age children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autistic spectrum disorders. In addition, he specializes in the diagnosis of learning disabilities by uncovering cognitive processing deficits that can impact academic success. Dr. Mendelsohn received specialized training in the diagnosis of ADHD and the design of behavioral interventions for children with ADHD at the Center for Management of ADHD, part of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He has experience as a behavioral specialist consultant with wrap around services that served Bucks County and the greater Philadelphia area. He specialized in the behavior treatment and management of school age children (K-8) with autistic spectrum disorders. He has several years experience working as a school psychologist in the public school systems in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and continues to work with school districts evaluating students ages three through 21. Dr. Mendelsohn received his Ph.D and certification in school psychology through Temple University's school psychology program.
Dr. Tracy Paskiewicz
Tracy Paskiewicz, Ph.D., NCSP is a Pennsylvania and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Dr. Paskiewicz holds an undergraduate degree from Villanova University, a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctoral degree from Temple University. She specializes in psychoeducational evaluations, cross-battery assessment, functional behavior assessment, and assessment of autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Paskiewicz is trained and certified to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). Dr. Paskiewicz also has teaching experience and taught graduate-level courses at Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania.
